As part of Vocaloid Wiki, the answers portal is subject to all relevant Vocaloid Wiki policies. There are several additional guidelines to be kept in mind:

Asking questions

• All questions must be about Vocaloid or UTAU and related software and subjects. But take notice that questions about similar software may not be answered as some contributors may not have knowledge of it. Please see the main Answer Wiki or other answer wikis for those potential questions.
• All answers and questions must follow the rules of standard English or other languages. Every name, location and title should be capitalized.
• If you wish to rephrase your question, go back to the page of your question and edit it rather than to ask a new question.
• Be as clear and to the point as possible.
• Asking the following types of questions should be avoided:
• Questions that are inappropriate — Any questions that contain rude, offensive, vulgar or otherwise inappropriate language will be deleted on sight by the Administrators and will result in your account being blocked.
• Duplicate questions or questions that have been asked multiple times before — Use the search bar at the right of your screen to see if your question already exists.
• Questions that are unanswerable or questions whose answers do not have any information to support them.
• See What type of questions can't be answered by Vocaloid Wiki, for detailed explanation.
• Questions on Why (Vocaloid / Utau / MMD) is experiencing an oddity in error
• Questions on How to become (a part of the Vocaloid business / an official illustrator / a Voice provider for Vocaloid), and other similar questions.
• Questions on What the latest Vocaloid software will be like... in detail
• Questions on Personal (issues / opinions / feedback) about Vocaloid series/products
• See What type of questions won't be answered by Vocaloid Wiki, for detailed explanation.
• Questions on How to hack / crack / brake software.
• Questions on How to use Pocaloid / download / ripped software.
• Questions on How to create Utau voicebank illegally.
• Questions on What is your favorite song / music / vocaloid / producer / artists.
• About Opinion-based questions — This site is only for providing fact-based answers. If you wish to acquire people's opinions, it is best to start a forum thread on Vocaloid Wiki or a User blog. By creating a forum post or blog your questions can be accompanied by a poll and you might receive a variety of opinions from fellow fans.
• If you want to create a poll page on the Answer wiki, then see this poll page. Type in the answer bar as if you would a regular question, and instead of waiting for an answer, fill the box with a poll. Remember that editing the poll results in it resetting.
All poll questions are categorized here: Category:Poll

Questions that do not comply with policy should be marked for deletion using the {{delete}} template and deleted by the administrators of the Answers portal.

Answering questions

• Answer a question according to the rules of standard English or other language (if possible). Every name, location and title should be capitalized. If you see a question that does not follow these rules, rephrase it to bring the question up to standard.
• Answer the question calmly and in a civil manner, no matter what you think of it or the character the question is about; rude, offensive, or inappropriate language must be avoided. Do not attack people for asking a certain question or giving a certain answer.
• Do not spam this wiki by posting answers that are not helpful or do not relate to the question asked. If the following terms are found on an answer page, the answerer will be subject to a warning and a temp block. "Google it" / "I don't know" / "This is Vocaloid wiki not UTAU wiki" / "No" / "Yes" etc. If you can't expand beyond the following, then do not answer the question.
• Do not delete another user's answer unless it is inappropriate, inaccurate or identical to the first answer given. Separate each other's answers by adding
.
• Answers should be objective and based upon facts and information that can be proved. You should try to avoid answering based on personal opinions and speculation. If it can't be helped please notify readers by using the {{notice}} or {{Notice/cant answer}} template.
• If a question is asking about how to obtain or violate a product in an illegal manner, please do not answer the question by supplying links or giving step by step information. This is a violation of TOU and is vandalism. Please notify readers by using the {{notice}} or {{Notice/wont answer}} template.
• When answering a question that asks for an opinion, stick as close to the canon information and proven facts as possible. Do not indulge in crack theories, fan fiction or opinions and state in the answer that it is speculative due to above reasons. Your arguments should at all time be well formulated and based on clearly stated, provable and rational arguments.
• If it is speculation, give due warning somewhere at the beginning.
• Categorize the answered question in the appropriate, relevant categories.
• If you see a question that does not adhere to the policies for asking questions, mark it for deletion using the {{delete}} template.
• When editing an answer that contains a poll, keep the poll at the top of the page.
• When joining a discussion:
• Follow the generally accepted format. Separate each other's answers by adding
.
• Join the discussion at the bottom of the page.
• Do not edit other people's contributions.
