Dealing with questions

  • Read this page to know about the guidelines when asking and this page to know about the guidelines when answering questions.

Types of questions

Policy violating questions

  • They must be tagged with the {{delete}} template.
The delete template looks like this:
  • To use, just type {{delete|reason}} or click the Button_RedX.png icon.
    • Replace "reason" with a specific violation that the question has violated in the policy.

  • These templates are to inform the questioner and readers that particular questions can't or won't be answered properly by this wiki. These templates will, in likelihood, never be removed from the page.

Questions that need to be rephrased

The question improvement template looks like this:

  • To use, just type {{t|Notice/question improvement|Summarize why notice is here.}}.
  • The template can be removed if the question has be properly rephrased by the questioner or contributor. It can also be removed if a contributor manged to figure out the question for a completed answer or has been updated.

Questions that needs expansion

The answer improvement template looks like this:

  • To use, just type {{t|Notice/answer improvement|Summarize why notice is here.}}.
  • The template can be removed if the question has reached five or more answers in the case of difference or comparison questions. It can also be removed if the answer is complete or has been updated.

Question that can still be updated

  • Some questions rely on event happenings, or upcoming releases, and can still be updated.
  • Use {{notice/answer changes}} template.

Categorizing, redirecting and searching for existing questions

Categorizing

  • When adding categories to the question, it should be relevant and must be mentioned in the question's title.
    • A complete list of categories can be found here.

Redirecting

  • Read more about redirect here.
  • As we cannot avoid duplicate questions, it is best to redirect the duplicate question to the original one.
    • Don't forget to remove the categories when redirecting.
  • To use, just type #REDIRECT [[title of original question]] or click the Button_redirect.png icon.


Searching for existing questions

Linking

Linking a page in Vocaloid Answers can be done by adding two brackets [[]] on each side.

  • If the page is from Vocaloid wiki, template {{VW}} should be used.
  • If the page is from UTAU wiki, template {{UW}} should be used.
  • If the page is from Fanloid wiki, template {{FW}} should be used.
  • If the page is from Utaite wiki, template {{UIW}} should be used. Note the "I"
  • Pages from Wikipedia can be linked by using [[Wikipedia:<page name>]].

When adding images...

  • First and foremost, Vocaloid Wiki's image guidelines also applies to Vocaloid Answers Wiki.
  • Images are uploaded for the purpose that it is used in questions that asks the appearance of a particular person, animal, and location or for tending to answers wiki necessities like templates and icons and not for sole use in profile pages and blogs.

Special instances

Should there be no admin around when nonies or other users are vandalizing or asking bad questions:

  • If the need arises and the vandal does not stop even though an unofficial warning has been given, registered users can use this template to warn the vandal. This serves as an official warning and must be used constructively.
    • If the vandal doesn't heed the official warning, this template may be used as a last official warning. It must also be used constructively.
